Chateau de Rochecotte is located in Saint Patrice, a tiny town in the countryside. There is nothing to do in town there really, but the grounds of the chateau will keep you entertained for at least a day. :) If you are inclined to remain on the property, they provide meals in two lovely dining rooms, and there is a gorgeous swimming pool, not to mention a forest accommodating long walks.



We have the hotel booked for two nights (July 9-11). Even if you aren't staying on the property you can come hang out, eat and drink, and enjoy the beautiful grounds!

Nearby (driving distance), there are two chateaus open to the public - Villandry and Azay-le-Rideau (pictured above). A bit further are the medieval cities of Chinon (fortress!) and Amboise (Da Vinci's last home!). These options are all day trips from the chateau.
